Influential Speaking
Persuading an audience toward a way of thinking
Premise A speaker can influence audiences either directly with a Vignette or indirectly with a Story or both with both.
Problem Those who prefer to think for themselves are often put off by speakers who posit opinions and beliefs as facts.
Solution Honor an audience's intelligence by encouraging them to consider your point of view as a viable possibility.
Pay Off You make your point and they assess its value without a sense of finality... as all who think for themselves prefer.
Note: This Premise/Problem/Solution/Pay Off sequence is the Vignette model (with thanks and love to Bill Gove). |
